Damage Reporting & Claims Policy

  • Soulful Shifters Moving LLC provides labor-only moving services. We are not a freight carrier and do not transport goods under our own bill of lading unless explicitly contracted in writing.

    All services are performed with reasonable care consistent with general industry standards.

    Moving services inherently involve risk.

    Standard of Care

    The Company agrees to:

    • Provide trained labor personnel
    • Use appropriate moving equipment
    • Exercise reasonable care during handling
    • Perform services in a professional manner

    This is not a guarantee against damage.

    Insurance & Coverage Disclosure

    Soulful Shifters Moving LLC maintains Commercial General Liability Insurance as evidenced by our Certificate of Insurance coi.

    This insurance:

    • Covers bodily injury to third parties
    • Covers certain property damage resulting from proven negligence
    • Does NOT constitute cargo insurance
    • Does NOT provide automatic replacement value coverage

    Customers seeking full replacement value or cargo-specific coverage are responsible for securing independent coverage through their own insurer.

    Exclusions of Responsibility

    The Company shall not be responsible for:

    • Pre-existing damage
    • Structural weaknesses in furniture
    • Pressboard / particleboard failure
    • Customer-packed contents
    • Undisclosed fragile or specialty items
    • Normal wear and tear
    • Cosmetic marring where inherent risk exists
    • Loss without physical evidence
    • Items not disclosed prior to booking

    Customer-Packed Items

    The Company is not liable for:

    • Internal damage to customer-packed boxes
    • Breakage due to insufficient packing
    • Undeclared high-value contents

    High-Value Item Disclosure

    Items exceeding $1,000 in estimated value must be disclosed in writing prior to service.

    Failure to disclose may result in denial of claim eligibility.

  • Soulful Shifters Moving LLC

    Immediate Reporting Requirement

    Any alleged damage must be:

    • Reported before crew departure when possible
    • Submitted in writing within 48 hours
    • Accompanied by photographic documentation

    Failure to comply may void claim eligibility.

    Investigation Process

    All claims are subject to review.

    The Company reserves the right to:

    • Inspect the item
    • Request proof of ownership
    • Request proof of value
    • Evaluate pre-existing condition

    Liability Standard

    Any potential reimbursement is limited to damage proven to be directly caused by negligence during service.

    The Company does not provide automatic replacement value coverage.

    Resolution, if applicable, may include:

    • Repair
    • Partial reimbursement
    • Depreciated value calculation

    At Company discretion.

    No Admission of Liability

    Crew members are not authorized to:

    • Admit fault
    • Promise payment
    • Offer settlement
    • Sign damage acknowledgments

    Only written determination from an authorized Company representative is binding.
